Krystal Seli

Krystal Songcuan Seli (also known as Teacher Krys) joined JAMAROO Kids at the beginning 2024 as a full-time teacher with over 15 years of experience working with young children and families. She earned a Masters in Acting from The New School for Drama in New York and has over 20 years of experience performing on stage.  

Krystal’s experience working with children includes working as a nanny, camp counselor, preschool teacher, and, most recently, as a Children’s Specialist, creating inclusive and neurodivergent programming for children of all abilities. Krystal’s experience with young children also includes being a mother to a young child.

Krystal is a seasoned performer and has been a dancer, singer, and actor on many stages in the Bay Area as well as New York. She is most proud of her work as a San Francisco and New York Neo-Futurist, creating and performing new experimental performance art. Krys is thrilled to bring her love of the performing arts to young children in her classes at JAMaROO Kids.

When Krys isn’t teaching, you can find her continuing her studies to become an Occupational Therapist, with the hopes of providing neurodivergent-affirming support to children, and spending time with her daughter. She also enjoys making experimental performance art, exploring new cities, and drinking lots of boba. 

When Krystal was asked what she loves about teaching for JAMaROO Kids and working with children, she responded with, “I am my most authentic self around children: funny, engaging, whimsical, and bold. I love that JAMaROO Kids supports their teachers and children alike to be their authentic selves!”

Fun Krys Facts: She is currently writing an experimental musical about mothers!
