Jane Commerford

Jane Commerford joined JAMaROO Kids in 2023 as a full-time teacher with a degree in Computer Science from Purdue University and a minor in Flute Performance. Prior to joining JAMaROO Kids, Jane had 6 years of experience working with children as a nanny and private flute teacher, as well as leading group music and dance classes to young children.

Jane has extensive experience as a musician playing in symphonies, pit orchestras, jazz bands, and solo performances. She is the recipient of several music awards including the Lillian & R.B. Stewart Award for Musical Excellence and the Lynn Michelle Le Ma Memorial Flute Award. She continues to teach private flute lessons and group lessons to children of all ages.

In her free time, Jane enjoys hiking, backpacking, painting, exploring new cities, and learning to play new instruments. She quickly learned the ukulele and enjoys incorporating this into her music classes with children!

When asked what she loves about working at JAMaROO KIDS, she said “I am delighted to be a part of the incredibly talented JAMaROO team of artists! The smiles that music brings to the children’s faces is contagious! Watching the joy on their faces is one of my favorite things about this work!”
